Rowdy Parrot Limited is a storytelling company - dedicated to the idea that we serve to entertain audiences, not to indulge incumbent industry structures, ceaselessly rehash bland creative or pursue activist agendas. Our audiences are the very reason we exist - and our only loyalty is to them. Our work involves the creation, development and management of intellectual property assets. Our business activities are conducted across four key divisions:
CORPORATE
Ideates, manages and licences IP, and provides funding, procurement, accounting, legal, management and shared services to the other divisions.
PUBLISHING
Printed and electronic publication of a highly select list of authors, with a special focus on science fiction and horror.
FILMMAKING
Specialist horror short film, feature film and programmatic production through our wholly-owned brand Privateer Media UK .
RETAIL
From proprietary direct to consumer distribution models, physical and electronic commerce, to curated experiences.
A CLOSED INFRASTRUCTURE
RPL runs our properties throughout the entire value chain, from concept to commercialisation. We therefore do not accept any pitches from agents, authors or filmmakers. We also permanently disqualify any vendors who approach us with unsolicited pitches from ever doing work with us, or any of our brands. We create our work, and our own services to support that work. We are wholly and fully privately held, funded and operated. Interested parties can engage and communicate with each individual brand directly.
history and culture
We serve audiences all over the world, primarily in English-speaking markets. We are based in the United Kingdom, with our primary operations being conducted from Plymouth, Devon. We began operating in 2019 with a single author, and we've been growing cautiously and steadily ever since.
